New England Lions Council Fall Conference
On 10/21 the Lions of New England gathered at Mt Snow Vermont for training, fellowship and fun.
Of particular interest to all local Lions club leaders was the 10am presentation of the Constitutional Area 1-A Global Action Team. Then the Rhode Island Lions disussed how the Rhode Island Lions Sight Foundation hosted it’s 10th annual Visually Impaired Persons (VIP’s) Fishing Tournament. They showed us the ropes and challenged other districts to host similar VIP fishing events. Equally exciting was a presentation from New Englands premier Guide Dog provider.
At 12:30 the NELC enjoyed lunch and learned about Burlington's Learn, Earn, and Prosper (LEAP) program which provides youth, 16-24 years old, who are blind or visually impaired, the opportunity to gain the skills needed to become independent, confident, and productive young adults.
The highlight of the weekend was the 7pm dinner with keynote speaker IPID Jerome Thompson, Constitutional Area 1 Global Membership Team Coordinator. Read more to get the full schedule and registration information.
The whole weekend was a fantastic opportunity to share new ideas and fellowship with New England Lions
